Work is going ahead smoothly to construct five residential complexes to shelter 6,000 displaced families in Jizan, according to Dr. Ahmad Al-Arjani, Secretary General of King Abdullah's Parents Foundation for Developmental Housing. He said the project covers all the necessary services including electricity, sanitary drainage, water networks and water treatment plants. A committee is working with the Emirate in Jizan to determine the actual number of displaced families who will benefit from the project. He said the Foundation will launch another project in Ahsa to accommodate 384 families. A committee consisting of judges and charities has been tasked with housing the displaced families who meet the conditions set by the Foundation. Apart from this, the Foundation has a package of developmental projects assisting needy people find jobs. Already several women have been employed in a shrimp factory. He said the Foundation has an agreement with the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training (GOTVT) for the training of the dependants of beneficiaries.
