A secondary school pupil who sneaked out of class for a crafty smoke ended up with burns to his arms and face when the car he been hiding behind caught fire from his cigarette. The pupil had chosen his smoking place next to the vehicle of a fellow pupil which had, unbeknownst to him, been leaking petrol, and when he discarded his cigarette butt beneath the car it immediately went up in flames, prompting school staff to rush to the scene and fire services to be called in.
