Saudi Aramco has unveiled a plan to carry out studies over the next few months on the economic prospects of the recently discovered national gas field in the northern areas, particularly the area bordering the Glamyed field. The plan was unveiled by Khaled Al-Faleh, President of Saudi Aramco at a press conference here, Monday. This followed the signing of a memorandum of understanding for constructing facilities for small and medium scale businesses. This is part of the Prince Sultan Fund for the support of businesswomen's projects at the Emirates' headquarters in the Eastern Province. He said the discovery of the Glamyed gas field paves the way for more discoveries. He said Aramco is still in the process of evaluating the productivity of the gas in the northern areas. Early indications were encouraging. He said that partnerships are being considered with other companies to create jobs and economic opportunities in the region.
