powered catamaran is seen after its unveiling in a shipyard in Kiel, northern Germany, Thursday. The vessel is 31 meters (192 feet) long, 15 meters (50 feet) wide and 7.5 meters (24.5 feet) high. The solar units cover an area of 500 square meters (5,382 square feet). The next milestone for the entire PlanetSolar team will be the launching of the boat. This major premiering event is scheduled in the upcoming weeks in Kiel. It is planned to take the yacht on an around the world journey in 2011.
