The SE Productions will hold its first elimination round for its singing contest “Search for Pop Icon Saudi Arabia 2010” on Feb. 26 (today) at the Liwasang Bonifacio of the Philippine Embassy here, event organizers said Thursday. The contestants have been selected in a strict audition and have undergone a series of training in personality development undertaken by in-house director Ron Jacobe. The training focused on how the contestants would conduct themselves in an interview, how to answer questions and proper English diction and pronunciation. They also had voice coaching lessons from Elmer Aquino and Nilan Lozada. The participants would have the opportunity to get photo shots with Cameraderie Club, the official photographer of the event. The annual search is being launched in cooperation with FAME and Saring Himig in the Western Province. “Pop Icon Search in Saudi Arabia 2010 Season 3” is not only a search for a singing talent but for a Pop Star with exceptional singing talents, star appeal and a good personality,” said Ranie Basanta, SE Productions chief executive officer. “There will be a 21 talented Filipinos in Riyadh competing for the prestigious title with bigger prizes in cash and in kind,” he added. Survivors in the first elimination roung will advance to the second elimination round on March 19. Four shall be chosen as Riyadh's representative to the Kingdom-wide search to compete with the winners from the Western and Eastern province. The final contest is set on May 26.
