Official reports have shown that water transferred from the Umm Addoom area, north of Taif, to Dhulum in the water tankers of domestic desalination stations is not fit for human consumption. Spokesman for Taif's Health Affairs, Saeed Al-Zahrani, said samples from the stations and the tankers have been analyzed by a government committee. The results were urgently referred to the authorities to ban the delivery of water to residents. Residents had been calling for the establishment of two water desalination projects to meet water demand especially in summer when there is a water shortage.
