Defending champion Dynamic Cricket Club (DCC) retained the TCF Shifa Jeddah T10 Champions Trophy 2010 by snatching victory from Srilankan Malay Cricket Club (SLMCC) by just 3 runs in a thrilling final at Baghdadiya ground last week. After winning the toss and electing to bat Dynamic Cricket Club struggled to tally 111 runs. It was Jawad (22 in 10 balls) and Mazher (22 in 15 balls) who gave DCC total some respectability. In return, Srilankan Malay was off to a flying start with an opening partnership of 90 runs between Prakash (36 in 31 balls) and Mustaq (33 in 23 balls). But after the loss of openers Srilankan Malay just crumbled against a charging DCC which clinched victory from the jaws of defeat. Jawad of DCC was adjudged as the Man of the Final. K.K. Vijayan, Indian Consul (Community Welfare), Meeran Jiffri, Consul attache, Sri Lankan Consulate, Abdul Rahman, Chairman, Shifa Jeddah Polyclinic, Salman Faris, Country Manager, Air Arabia, and Abdul Rasheed, Marketing Manager, Aeroexpress, graced the final and distributed the prizes. Anwar Sadath, General Secretary, TCF Committee welcomed the guests, teams and cricket fans and Ali, CCO, proposed a vote of thanks. Former Srilankan Broadcasting corporation commentator M.M.M. Naushad made the commentary throughtout the tourney. Fair Play Team award went to Kerala Knight Riders. Air Arabia air tickets to any Air Arabia destination was awarded to Mohammed Ayaz of DCC (Man of the Series), Sami Khan of Kanoo Cricket Club (best batsman), Rumais Abdul Khader of Srilankan Malay (best bowler), Omar of DCC (fastest fifty) and Reehan Sharshad (spectator award). In the first semifinal Dynamic Cricket Club thrashed Kerala Knight Riders by 105 runs. Dynamic Cricket Club won the toss, elected to bat first and scored 148-4. Skipper Ayaz (43 in 20 balls) Umar (67 in 27 balls) produced 109 runs for the first wicket. Kerala Knight Riders were all out for 43. Umar won the Man of the Match award. In a thrilling second semifinal which was decided in the final over, Srilankan Malay Cricket Club pipped Kanoo Cricket Club by 3 wickets. SLMCC won the toss and elected to field first. Kanoo tallied 105-6 as Sami Khan scored 54 in 25 balls. SLMCC chased the target for the loss of 7 wickets with one ball left. A match-winning 23 in 13 balls won SLMCC's Furkan the Man of the Match award.
