Nazha District here uncovered Monday an alcohol production operation being conducted under the guise of a fishmonger's. Authorities in the area first had their suspicions aroused by a man of Asian nationality found in possession of the locally produced alcoholic beverage ‘araq and surveillance teams identified a site frequented by numerous persons of Asian nationalities all hours of the day and night. The site was run by six males, all of whom wore a staff uniform to avert suspicion, police said, but when enough evidence had been gathered a raid was conducted during which officers found distilling equipment and large barrels and containers. The interior of the site also had its windows sealed to prevent odors from alerting neighbors to the activities of the six.
