The 13th International Saudi Dentistry Conference organized by King Saud University here concluded on Tuesday by reiterating the importance of continued education in dentistry and recommended introducing international quality systems. The conference said that dentistry in the Kingdom should be governed by international standards through the country's various educational centers, universities, hospitals and clinics. Dentists also called on the public to actively help the campaign to fight tooth decay currently being carried out across the country, expressing particular concern for children. The conference further highlighted a need for scientific support through continued medical education symposia and clinic workshops, and recommended greater focus on staff in supporting dentistry positions such as assistant dentists, technicians and oral hygiene specialists.
