Qatari Joint Coordination Council held its second meeting here Monday with Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, leading Saudi Arabia's side and Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Crown Prince of Qatar, chairing his country's side. Prince Naif said the meeting comes as further enhancement for the Gulf Cooperation Council march and reflects the great keenness of the leaderships of the two countries for bilateral relations in all fields. Prince Naif expressed the hope that the deep-rooted ties binding the two countries would be further strengthened. Sheikh Tamim said the meeting enjoys the interest of Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of Qatar, and King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to continue more progress of cordial and firm relations between the two countries and peoples. Sheikh Tamim considered this meeting as an important step on the way to consolidated cooperation between the two countries, noting that it would yield positive results that would contribute in enhancing cooperation in all fields in a way that serves people of both the countries. The Council's first session was held in Riyadh in Dec. 16, 2008. It witnessed the signing of several bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding in political, economic, commercial, cultural and information fields, and further agreements are expected to be signed in this second session.
