An Indonesian woman was arrested here Friday for allegedly running an illegal network providing women dancers and servants to private parties at wedding halls and private homes. The woman who is known as “Baby” had allegedly lured housemaids to leave their sponsors and work with her in exchange for higher pay and easier working conditions. She assigned the women, most of whom had no legal residency and work permits, to work as dancers and servants according to their looks, available information showed. Baby was put under surveillance for a period of time and was arrested when she came to collect half of the money promised by an undercover woman agent who had asked for ten dancers for a private party in a rest house (istiraha).
