Shalimar, Brothers sparkle

Shalimar defeated Old Student-XI by six wickets, Brothers-XI won by 105 runs against Pure Foods, Saad Group posted a 6-wicket win over Pak Ahmadabad-XI, Rawi beat Tamer by 94 runs and Panda downed Zinda Tilismat of India Hyderabad-XI by 9 wickets in the 5th week matches of the JCA Division-I which is sponsored by the ACE Travel and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
Old Students-XI, batting first, made 152-7 in 13.4 overs of allotted 18 overs. Muneeb scored an impressive 82 runs in 36 balls. The other batsmen who supported him were Zeeshan 28, Hamid 13 and Zia 11. Tariq took 3 wickets and medium pacer Nabil Muzaffar Hussain 3 and Zain 1.
In reply, Shalimar reached 154-4 in 13.4 overs as opener Tariq Jamal hit a quickfire 65, Zain Al-Salikeen made 30 and Rana Shahzad remained unbeaten on 30. Zaheer took 2 wickets while Majed and Umair got one each.
Brothers-XI piled up a huge 222-2 in 16 overs against Pure Foods. Dashing opener Rayees was in full cry as he scored 22 off first over from Omer. He went on to hit 93 off 32 balls. His opening partner Shamim who was rotating the stirke later started big hitting. He made remained unbeaten on 73. Rayees and Shamim recorded a 131-run first wicket partnership. Irfan made 20 while Abu Hassan an unbeaten 10. Tabish and Omar claimed one wicket each.
Pure Foods slumped to 117-7 in the allotted 16 overs. Amjad 31, Omer 21, Sajjad 14 and Rashid 11 were among the runs. Rayees 3-16, Moin 2-22, Junaid and Awad were the wicket-takers. Pak Ahmadabad-XI tallied 143-7 in 16 overs through Sadiq Memon 51, Abdul Rauf 19, Syed Ashraf Shah 15, Zahid 12 and Muzammil 10. Riaz and took 2 wickets, while Ghulam Mustafa and Ismail got one each. In reply, Saad Group reached 145-4 in 15.2 overs. Umar made a match-winning 41 off 25 balls. Sajid hit 25, Tariq 18, Ismail 17 and Amir 13. Fast bowler Zahid claimed 3 wickets.
Rawi made 209-7 in 17 overs. Shafiullah made 59 while his brother Hidayathullah smashed 56. Shamsheer 31 and Kashan 22 were the other contributors. Anwar Ahmed Khan and Rizwan bagged 3 wickets each while Azhar got one. In reply, Tamar was all out for 115 with only skipper Anwar Khan making a brave 24. Amjad 17, Hafeez 11, Pervez 11, Imran 14 and Ibaad 10 were the other main scorers. Sher Ali and Shafiullah took 2 wickets while Sayeed got one.
In the last match, Zinda Tilismat-XI scored 188-9 in 18 overs against Panda. Sadathullah hit a captain's knock of 54, Zaman impressed with 41 while Sayeed Khan made a quickfire 25, Hafeez 24 and Jawed Ahmed 11 runs. Taher impressed with bowling as he took 4 wickets. Shoaib got 3 while Afzal one. In reply, Panda reached 191-1 as Shoaib hit 43 off 24 balls, Taher remained unbeaten on 51 off 28 balls and Sameer made 64 off 25 balls. Zahid took the lone wicket to fall. __
