Look into my eyes…Umm Bandar, the sole falconress at the Bureidah Spring Festival, displays one of her prize birds on Wednesday. Umm Bandar hails from a family with a long history of falcon hunting, a sport usually the preserve of males, and is hoping to encourage more women to take up what she described as her “favorite hobby”. “Lots of women have come and spoken to me at the festival, both young and old, expressing a wish to learn about falconry,” she said. “More and more are getting into it.”
