The Saudi Railways Organization (SRO) has announced that it will submit next Wednesday the specification documents for the construction of four passenger stations which forms part of the new multibillion riyal 450 km Al-Haramain rail development. Abdul Aziz Al-Hokail, President of the SRO, said the organization's working team, including representatives of the General Investments Fund (GIF), World Bank and other consultants, recently completed the final draft of the documents covering all legal, financial and technical criteria. The documents cover all agreements and conditions for all parties. Al-Hokail said this part of the project is for the construction of the four passenger stations in Jeddah, Makkah, Madina and King Abdullah Economic City in Rabegh. The detailed engineering designs for the stations were completed by two British companies. Eight consortiums are competing for the right to win the contract from the SRO to build the four stations.
