Zvonareva defends Pattaya Open title

Vera Zvonareva successfully defended her Pattaya Open title, beating hometown favorite Tamarine Tanasugarn 6-4, 6-4 in the final Sunday.
The top-seeded Russian collected her 10th career title and avenged her loss to the Thai in the second round at Wimbledon two years ago. She also became the first player to win the singles title two years in a row in the 19-year history of the event.
Dementieva wins in Paris
Russia's Elena Dementieva won the Paris Indoors WTA tournament for the first time in her ninth attempt Sunday defeating Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic 6-7 (5-7), 6-1, 6-4 in the final.
The 28-year-old Russian had been the losing finalist here last year, going down to the now retired Amelie Mauresmo of France.
Soderling claims ABN Amro
In the Netherlands, Robin Soderling won the ABN Amro final Sunday when 2007 champion Mikhail Youzhny of Russia retired because of a thigh injury while trailing 6-4, 2-0.
The third-seeded Soderling became the first Swedish winner of the indoor tournament since Anders Jarryd in 1993.
Ferrero to meet Kubot
Top-seeded Juan Carlos Ferrero will face unseeded Lukasz Kubot in the final of the Brazil Open after both won their semifinals Saturday.
Spain's Ferrero defeated Ricardo Mello of Brazil, 6-4, 6-2 after Poland's Kubot surprisingly defeated fourth-seeded Igor Andreev of Russia 2-6, 6-2, 6-4.
Roddick-Verdasco final
Andy Roddick will face Fernando Verdasco in the final of the SAP Open after the tournament's top two seeds both fought through three setters in Saturday's semifinals.
The top-seeded Roddick beat seventh-seeded American compatriot Sam Querrey, 2-6, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (4), in a protracted semifinal that featured a combined 53 aces.
Roddick reached the San Jose final for the fourth time.
Spain's Verdasco reached his first final since October by beating Uzbekistan's Denis Istomin 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 earlier in the day.
Bartoli, Schiavone advance
Eleventh-seeded Marion Bartoli of France and 14th-seeded Francesca Schiavone of Italy won first-round matches at the Dubai Tennis Championship Sunday.
Bartoli routed Ekaterina Makarova 6-2, 6-0 of Russia, and Schiavone beat Romania's Sorana Cirstea 6-2, 7-5.
Sabine Lisicki defeated Chan Yung-jan of Taiwan 6-1, 6-4.
The German will now play defending champion Venus Williams having beaten the American at Charleston last year in their only previous meeting.
