Assaf, Minister of Finance, has underlined the importance of the loans being extended by the commercial banks under the umbrella of “Kifala program” and said this constitutes the contribution of the private sector to the development of the national economy. He disclosed that since its commencement in 2006, the program has been witnessing steady development and the number of the establishments which have benefited from the program up to the end of 2009 amounted to 769 receiving loans amounting to SR1.07 billion. Dr. Assaf said the contribution of the banks in carrying out the program embodies their important role in supporting the national economy.
