The charitable society for creating awareness of the harms of smoking and drugs (Kafa) has completed a guidance and awareness program for Makkah region police on the harms of smoking to one's health. The program included the distribution of awareness leaflets on the ways to kick the smoking habit through specialist clinics run by the society. The program also highlighted the cases of those suffering from tumors and cancer caused by smoking. With the use of a mobile clinic supervised by a doctor and health specialists the society was also able to help a number of military personnel give up smoking. In recognition of the success of the program, Maj. Gen. Yusuf Mattar, Director of Makkah Region Police, honored Abdullah Bin Hasan Sarooji, Executive Director of Kafa in Makkah, with a shield while the latter presented the police director with a similar award for supporting Kafa programs.
