Saudi Minister of Health Dr. Hamad Bin Abdullah Al-Manea' agreed to allow male nurses and paramedics employed by hospitals and health centers to drive ambulance vehicles with a bonus of SR 500 per month as stated in the health bylaws. Dr. Obaid Al-Obaid, deputy minister of health for planning and development, issued on Sunday an urgent circular indicating that ambulance vehicles should be driven by paramedics or a male nurses, not a regular driver. Only medical professionals would appreciate and value the the mission of an ambulance vehicle and medical devices, equipment and supplies onboard.
