Authorities in Jeddah continued their campaign against forgers and counterfeiters in the city with the arrest on Tuesday of eight persons of Asian nationality charged with producing fake Iqama permits and identity documents. Police said the group had been under surveillance for a week and undercover officers posed as clients in order to reveal the full extent of their activities. In the last few weeks city police have made arrests on an almost daily basis for activities related to forging passports and identity documents. Earlier this week one man was arrested for arranging illicit marriages and providing forged contracts signed and sealed with official stamps.
