The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) has signed a SR3.5 million sponsorship deal with Umm Al-Qurra Development Company and Emaar Construction to fund the 10th Jeddah Economic Forum. The sponsorship was signed at a press conference held Tuesday. The event was attended by Mustafa Ahmad Kamal Sabri, the JCCI's Secretary General and Dr. Abdul Aziz Bin Saqr, the forum's chairman and media representative. Addressing the conference, Sabri said the contract demonstrates the private sector's support for economic development in the country. He said the forum is important because of the pivotal role the Kingdom plays in the regional and global economy. The four-day forum will be launched on Feb. 13 by Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, the Emir of Makkah at the Jeddah Hilton. The theme of the forum is: “The world economy 2020”. Saqr said the Jeddah Economic Forum will focus on the world economy in the wake of the global economic crisis. It aims to formulate a clear cut vision for the future by defining the necessary stimulus and risks. He lauded the role of the JCCI in organizing forums which contribute to the development of Jeddah.
