The Council of Ministers Monday called upon the Lebanese people to listen to reason and to put their country's interests above all other considerations, reported the Saudi Press Agency. Chairing the weekly Cabinet session, King Abdullah stressed that violence would only strengthen foreign hands, which are hindering every effort to put an end to the crisis and achieve reconciliation to choose a president. Dr. Saud Bin Sa'eed Al-Mithami, Minister of State for the Affairs of the Shoura Council and Acting Minister of Culture and Information, said the Cabinet supported the call of the Arab League Ministerial Council emergency meeting to all Lebanese parties to immediately cease fire. The Cabinet also discussed the development in Sudan and stressed the importance of refraining from all forms of violence and supported the efforts of the government of national unity to achieve peace, security and stability in all parts of the country. It also hoped that all forms of violence in Sa'dah in Yemen will cease. It also stressed the importance of the continuation of the efforts of the Yemeni government to put an end to sedition and also expressed its appreciation to President Ali Abdullah Saleh's attempts to contain the dispute. Referring to the tense situation on Djibouti-Eritrean borders, the Cabinet emphasized the importance of respecting the principle of good neighborliness and not to encroach upon other's territories demarcated after the independence. Looking into domestic issues, the Cabinet endorsed the recommendations made by the Supreme Economic Council on amending the Seventh Clause of its decision No. 220. The amendment stipulates the formation of a committee to be chaired by the Minister of Commerce and Industry including members of the rank of undersecretary from the ministries of municipal and rural affairs, interior, justice and finance as well as the Secretary General of the Saudi Commission for Certified Accountants and Secretary General of the Saudi Engineers Commission to look into all the existing real estate licensed and unlicensed investments at the time of the issuance of the Council of Ministers decision No. 220. The committee would assign a suitable certified account office to work out financial status for every investment and prepare detailed reports including the records of the shareholders and their financial and legal rights as well as the legal and technical aspects of the investment and submit periodical reports. It will also assign any investment to a legal liquidator. The committee will work out a mechanism to enable it to preserve the rights of the shareholders and liquidation of the invested shares. __
