The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) hopes the 2nd Saudi Labor Market Exhibition to be held here from March 13 to 16 will create opportunities for 100,000 Saudi job seekers. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, the Emir of the Makkah Region, is scheduled to patronize the event. It is being organized by the JCCI, in cooperation with the Arabian Al-Mais Company for Exhibitions and Conferences. Mazen Batarjee, Deputy Chairman of the JCCI, said the chamber has already started preparations for the exhibition at which 100 national companies and other establishments are scheduled to participate and hopefully provide thousands of jobs for young Saudi men and women in various sectors. This was part of efforts to boost Saudization in the Kingdom, he said. Batarjee said the chamber is being joined in the event by the Ministry of Labor and the Human Resources Development Fund and hopes to find 100,000 jobs for Saudis. He said the exhibition will bring together companies that have a sense of social and national responsibility and are able to accommodate large numbers of job seekers, including those with special needs. The exhibition will hold specialist workshops directed at various segments of the labor market, including job seekers; education and training service providers; personnel agencies and companies offering jobs. Ali Rizq, executive director of the organizing company, said the exhibition would provide opportunities for qualified Saudis, including those with special needs, to meet directly with the potential employers. Rizq said the exhibition will target all Saudi graduates and students who have passed secondary school and are about to join the university – both male and female – within the 16 – 35 age bracket. He said the exhibition is an opportunity for secondary school students and their parents and guardians to get acquainted with the jobs required by the market, as this would help them in choosing their specializations. He called on the national companies and establishments to provide their support through effective participation at the exhibition.
