Mahamid district of Jeddah arrested two Bangladeshis on Wednesday as they shinnied up electrical posts in the street in broad daylight to steal cables. Officers called in by local residents observed as one of the pair cut copper wires free from fittings several meters above the ground while his companion put them into the vehicle parked close by. The two had told locals that they were electricians conducting repairs on the electricity post, but a company official was contacted and confirmed suspicions that they were acting alone.
