Akram blasts 117 in Kanoo Premier Cup

winning 117 runs off just 51 balls to power ACE Travel past Otex Cricket Club by 30 runs, Ghoshi hit a magnificent 83 in Pak Young's win over Saudi German Hospital by 47 runs and Kanoo defeated Sigma Paints Osfan-XI by 3 wickets in the third week matches of the JCA Premier Division tournament which is sponsored by the Kanoo Group of Companies and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
ACE Travel, batting first, piled up 204-8 in the allotted 18 overs against Otex-XI. Opener Akram smashed 117 off 51 balls. The other opener Saleem made 13, Adil 10 and Murtaza 18 not out. Asif 3-29, Usman Jani 2-46 and Akram 1-14 performed well with the ball.
In reply, Otex-XI could reach 174-5 through Usman Jani 31, Shahnawaz 28, Amjad 28, Nasir 13, Javed 38 not out and Hafiz Usman 14 not out. Ashfaq Hussain took 3-39, Mumtaz 1-25 and Adil 1-39.
Pak Young, batting first, made 190-3 against Saudi German Hospital. Opener Arshad Khan made 32. The other opener Ghoshi played splendidly for 83. Skipper Shakeel and Mustafa remained unbeaten on 27 and 23 runs respectively. Ashfaq took 2-39 and Arif 1-32. In reply, the hospital team was all out for 143 all out in 16 overs. Taqi 18, Mumtaz 56, Ashfaq 11 and Irfan 10 were the main scorers.
In the third match, Sigma Paints Osfan-XI made 159-7 against Kanoo. Majid Bhatti made a swashbuckling 46 off 14 balls. Jamshed made 23 while the middle order batsmen Rana Riaz 18 not out, Riaz 18, Arshad 15 contributed runs for Sigma Paints. Rashid Khurshid took 3-20, Majid Sheikh 2-39, Kamran 1-19 and Muhammad Rabi 1-8. In reply, Kanoo reached 161-7 in 17.5 overs. Captain Majid made 23, Muhammad Rabi 33, Arshad 43, Waseem 12 and Kamran 12. __
