Faisal of Saudi Arabia will not put his title prospects at risk to extend his winning habit when the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East returns to action in Abu Dhabi Friday. Successive race wins on home territory last month following an earlier victory and a second place in Bahrain in December add up to an almost perfect record and a 14-point lead for Prince Abdulaziz after four of 12 rounds in the new one-make Porsche series. But looking ahead to a key race weekend at Yas Marina Circuit on Friday and Saturday as the championship reaches its half way stage, he made it clear that he is prepared to sacrifice his chances of victory in order to protect his long-term objective. “From now on it's all about finishing each race for me,” he said. “I want to avoid a situation where I'm put of a race with no points. Of course, if I have a chance to win I'll take it and definitely I want to be on the podium. But the main aim has to be to stay ahead in the championship and win the title. We're only just approaching the half way mark and anyone can catch up.” Three wins out of four represents a dream start in his bid to become the first Porsche GT3 Cup champion in the Middle East, and things couldn't be better for the Al Faisal team, with his cousin, Prince Khalid, having scored the other victory in the series to date. __
