JC Intal exploded anew with a career-high 25 points as the Barangay Ginebra Kings lived to fight another day, defeating the Talk N Talk Tropang Texters, 102-97, Wednesday night in Game 3 of their 2009-9010 KFC PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals match at the Araneta Coliseum. The Texters still lead their series 2-1 and could move ahead into the semifinals with a win against the Kings on Friday. Erik Menk also contributed big-time for Ginebra, churning in 20 points, including crucial free throws, key rebounds and tenacious defense in the homestretch that foiled the Texters' bid to replicate its Game 2 come-from-behind win. Jayjay Helterbrand and Mark Caguioa once again played together as they rejoined the Kings' roster after missing several games due to injuries. The other quarterfinals match was also extended into a Game 4 as the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters rallied to beat the Purefoods TJ Giants, 95-90. Jeff Chan sank four pressure-pack three-point shots in the fourth quarter to foil the Giants' bid to wrap up the series. Chan finished with 17 points spiced with six assists to topscore for the Painters.
