King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) held on Monday the first scientific meeting of its kind in cooperation with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), for discussion of a number of scientific research projects conducted by King Abdullah University with US-based Stanford and Cornell Universities. KACST aims to coordinate and cooperate with all government sectors and universities including KAUST, for the enhancement of scientific research in the Kingdom. In his lecture, Dr. Michael Maqi from Stanford University reviewed a KAUST-backed study on solar cells that can be built by using organic molecules. He pointed out that this study uses micro-nanotechnology to realize a ten-fold reduction in the cost of solar cells.
