The Emirates' first commercial A380 flight to the Kingdom arrived at Jeddah's King Abdul Aziz International Airport Monday evening, adding the Red Sea Port to its list of destinations already including Sydney, Auckland, London, Bangkok, Toronto, Seoul and Paris. The three-cabin “super-jumbo” – boasting the widest aircraft cabin in the world – will fly to and from Dubai four times a week offering 14 private suites in First Class, 76 fully-reclining seats in Business Class, and 427 seats in Economy. Emirates, which already runs daily flights to Jeddah from Dubai, describes the move as a “significant milestone” reflecting the “increased demand for services in and out of the Kingdom.” “Adding the A380 service to this perpetually busy route will significantly increase our capacity, ensuring passengers have greater access to flights whilst enjoying the distinction of traveling on the world's largest and most heralded aircraft,” said Ahmed Khoory, Emirates' Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations in the Gulf, Middle East and Iran. The airline currently has seven A380 aircraft in its fleet, with a further 51 on order. On its arrival in Jeddah, the aircraft received a ceremonial spraying of the wings from the Civil Defense.
