Infiltrator snipers were still present in the border region, days after they announced they had withdrawn from the Saudi territory, military sources said Monday. Saudi forces have firmly dealt with the remaining snipers in anoher blow to them in defense of the Kingdom's border, the sources said, placing confidence in the troops to repulse any attack. “These people cannot be trusted, every day they creep in and out, but they do not really pose a threat,” a Reuters report quoted a military source as saying. Meanwhile, the Saudi artillery continued bombing the hideouts of infiltrators and destroyed dozens of trenches east of the borders, military sources said. Military Police and Mujahideen Forces are combing villages on the borders on a daily basis to hunt down suspected infiltrators. Sources said that the infiltrators did not like the Kingdom constructing a fence along its border with Yemen as they used the route to smuggle food items from Saudi border villages. They said that Saudi troops deployed along the borders had taken several steps to effectively check smuggling.
