Mutairi sorts out bottles of hot sauce he received as charity from the Al-Bir Charity Organization in Madina. Al-Mutairi had asked the organization to help his poor family of eight, who live in an old rented home. “What I got was hot sauce that is only 20 days away from its expiry date,” he said. Al-Mutairi had a simple question to ask: “Where is the food that goes with it?” The director of the organization had told him to “sell” his aid to get cash, he said. Hatem Bari, head of the Social Affairs Office in Madina said Al-Mutairi should file a complaint against the charity organization. “If this is true, the charity should be held accountable,” Bari said.
