Civil Defense emergency rescue teams were called to the house of a Saudi family on Tuesday to extract a four-year-old child who had locked herself in a room at home in Al-Makhwa. The girl was reportedly playing in the room and had managed to turn the key in the lock from the inside, and after an hour of trying to get her to reopen the door and the ever-increasing intensity of her screams the family decided to approach the authorities. To the joy of all concerned, firefighters broke down the door and reunited the little girl with her parents. The Al-Baha spokesman for the Civil Defense took the opportune moment to offer counsel to all homebuilders: “Don't leave keys in doors, and don't leave children in rooms alone,” he advised.
