Faisal, Emir of Makkah, has urged government bodies to work together to tackle the threat of rainwater floods in Jeddah. Prince Khaled, speaking at a meeting to discuss the issue on Monday, said that works in the east of Jeddah needed to be completed and brought into the city's overall plan to ensure the recent flood disaster does not recur. The Prince also approved a workshop next week for the relevant government departments to work with specialists and produce recommendations for a comprehensive project under the supervision of a single body. The meeting was attended by Prince Misha'l Bin Majed, Governor of Jeddah, and officials from the Mayor's Office, the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment, the Saudi Geological Survey, regional departments of Road Security and Water, and the Civil Defense Administration.
