A workshop here Tuesday will find effective ways to fight cyber crimes. The workshop is being organized by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry's department of technical and economic information with the cooperation of the communications and information technology organization, Jeddah police and government and private authorities. Dr. Zaifullah Al-Zahrani, deputy governor of the communications and information technology organization, and Dr. Sulaiman Mirdad, deputy director of the organization, will address the workshop. Muhyiddin Hakmi, general manager of information technology at JCCI, said that the aim of the workshop is to educate the community about the need to minimize the risks involved in the use of the Internet by developing better forms of regulation. “Many topics relevant to the subject of cyber crimes, such as a review of computer crimes and their motives, characteristics and patterns of criminal information, abuse of Internet use, provisions of anti-crime information will be discussed,” he said. The topics, he said, are consistent with objectives in the field of technology and information and will serve to educate members of the chamber about the latest technical solutions and provide information about cyber crimes.
