The Women's Division at the Narcotics Combat General Directorate and the Student Guidance Division at Riyadh's General Education Administration are holding a scientific workshop for women. The workshop, titled “Our Children Away from Drugs,” will be given to students' advisors at girls' elementary schools from Saturday to Wednesday. Two more workshops will include students' advisors at intermediate and high schools. Specialists from the Directorate, King Saud University, Girls Students Guidance Administration and the Anti-Smoking Society will participate in lecturing, in addition to a former addict who will talk about her experience and violence that children of an addicted parent suffer. The Arabic daily Al-Jazirah quoted the workshop's supervisor, Hana'a Abdullah Al-Fraih, as saying the event is the first phase of cooperation between the Narcotics Combat Directorate and the Education Administration, adding that starting with the elementary grade is because it represents the base. Amal Khashoqji, Director of the Women's division at Narcotics Combat, told Al-Jazirah an educational exhibition would be held at the workshop's sidelines, in which samples of drugs will be exhibited along with pictures showing the impacts resulting from using them and the inevitable end of drug consuming. The show would also include demonstration of drug smuggling methods, for which pictures have been provided by customs.
