A necrological service was held Saturday, Manila time, for the four Filipino fatalities in the Haiti quake, the ABS-CBN News online said Sunday. Top United Nations (UN) officials and other Filipinos paid tribute to the three Filipino peacekeepers and on Filipino UN worker who perished in the quake. Their bodies have been brought to nearby Dominican Republic for embalming, it said without giving sources. Armed Forces spokesman Lt. Col. Romeo Brawner said the remains will be brought to Miami, then to Los Angeles, before being flown to the Philippines, the report said. The military has prepared a heroes' welcome for the Filipino fatalities in Manila, ABS-CBN News said. Two more Filipinos have not been found from the collapsed Caribbean Supermarket in the capital. The Haitian government has declared the search and rescue phase over. The are more than 400 Filipinos in Haiti.
