year-old Khenaifir Al-Rasheedi received a check for SR14,000 on Thursday from Al-Salsalah Governorate, in the Madina region, to compensate him for getting imprisoned arbitrarily for 14 days by the Governor of Khaibar. The financial award came in implementation of a verdict issued by the Administrative Court in Madina. Al-Rasheedi had filed a lawsuit in Administrative Court against the Governor of Khaibar demanding compensation of SR1 million for having been imprisoned arbitrarily, according to him, as a result of a dispute over a well, which Al-Rasheedi's grandfather had endowed. Al-Rasheedi said Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Majed, Emir of Madina Region, had been just by ordering his release from prison. This was in response to Al-Rasheedi's complaint while he was serving his term. Al-Rasheedi's lawyer Sultan Bin Zahem said the verdict is “clear practical proof that the Kingdom adopts human rights principles and protects human dignity against any official who uses his authority to impose incorrect decisions.”
