Pak Ahmadabad-XI and Panda win on first day

XI and Panda Cricket Club scored victories on the opening day of the JCA Division-I Championship which is sponsored by Kanoo and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association.
The 10 teams participating in the Kanoo Cup are: Natco Saudi Arabia, Zinda Tilismath, Old Students, Pure Foods, Pak Ahmadabad, Rawi, Brothers Eleven, Kanoo, Saad Group and Panda Cricket Club.
Pak Ahmadabad-XI beat Pure Foods by ten wickets while Panda Cricket Club won over Saad Group by 6 wickets.
At JCA ground 1 new entrant Saad Group won the toss, elected to bat first and scored 129-8 in the allotted 18 overs. Opener Sajid 22, Tariq 15, Ghulam Mustafa 23 and Umar Hayat 21 brought some stability to the score but the the lower order fell cheaply to the accurate bowling of Panda Cricketers. Afzal took 3 wickets, Afroz got two while Shoaib, Anwar and Hafiz claimed one each.
In reply, Panda opener Shoaib hit an unbeaten 46. Sameer at No.3 made an aggressive 40 in 15 balls. Khaja contributed 1., Panda reached 130 with the loss of 4 wickets. Ghulam Mustafa claimed two wickets while Khalid and Omer got one each.
At JCA ground 2, Pure Foods, batting first, scored 136-4 against Pak Ahmadabad-XI. Opener Sajjad Butt topscored with an unbeaten 69 and Omar made 13. There were 20 extras. Younus Khan claimed 2-39 and Rauf 2-13.
In reply, Pak Ahmadabad-XI reached 140 without loss. Syed Ashraf Shah made an unbeaten 68 from 30 balls while his partner Abdul Rauf made 55 in 26 balls.
