Unable to wait any longer for rescue services who were only yards away from their smoke-engulfed fourth-floor apartment, an Indonesian couple joined hands and jumped from the balcony to the ground below on Wednesday, sustaining fractures, but still alive. “We got a report of the fire and rushed to the scene, and we were only around the corner from the building when they decided to jump,” said a fire official.
