This year's transportation budget will include a cost for completing the third phase of the 90 km ring road project in Jeddah that will link the Southern Corniche with eastern and northern Jeddah. According to the Minister of Transportation, Dr. Jubarah Al-Seraissiri, the third phase would begin with converting the Jeddah to Jizan Coastal Road to an expressway. This will start with an 80 km section in the Makkah Region. Also, a new bridge will be built at the intersection between Madina Road and the royal terminal in Jeddah. The minister said the projects include maintenance on the current lane for the Taif to Baha to Abha Road, which includes concrete barriers starting with a 36 km section in the Makkah Region. Al-Seraissiri is scheduled to inspect on Sunday projects carried out in the Madina Region, including the second and third ring road projects. Engineer Zuhair Katib, Director General of the Roads and Transportation Administration in the Madina Region, said the region's projects include completion of the third and fourth stages of the third ring road in Madina and improving the intersections of the second ring road. The projects include improving the intersection between Ali Bin Abi Talib Street with Quba Road and the Prince Abdul Mohsin Road intersection. An 86km part of the Hail to Madina Road will also be completed. The projects also include the first phase of repairs to the 50 km section of the Tabuk to Madina Road, and the completion of the 39 km Khaibar to Al
