Women break down in to tears during prayers to prevent the demolition of their shanties by government workers to make way for road projects in Navotas, Metro Manila, Thursday. The protesters, consisting mostly of squatters, were demanding relocation of their homes. Illegally built shanties continue to rise around Metro Manila as poor people from all over the country migrate to the capital to find work.
