Steve Ott's controversial goal in the sixth round of the shootout helped the Dallas Stars beat the Detroit Red Wings 3-2 and end a three-game skid in the NHL Saturday. Dallas goalie Alex Auld and Detroit's Jimmy Howard were perfect in the first five rounds before Ott backhanded a shot through Howard's pads. Howard pulled the puck off the goal line, but after a lengthy video review officials ruled Ott's shot crossed the line. Detroit's Patrick Eaves missed the net in his sixth-round attempt and the Stars celebrated. Andrew Ladd, Marian Hossa and Troy Brower each had a goal and an assist, Ben Eager also scored, and Patrick Kane added three assists for the Blackhawks, who remain co-tied for the league lead with San Jose. Columbus captain Rick Nash scored twice, beside Kristian Huselius, Kris Russell and Raffi Torres. Sharks 4, Oilers 2: At San Jose, California, Devin Setoguchi scored a pair in a 1:38 span to lead San Jose past Edmonton. Patrick Marleau added his league-leading 32nd goal and Joe Thornton also scored for the Sharks, who were tied with Chicago for the most league points. Denis Grebeshkov and Patrick O'Sullivan scored for the Oilers, who have lost seven straight and 14 of 15 overall.
