Mobily launched a new group SMS features under the name SMS Plus with which users can dispatch an SMS to up to 20 other Mobily subscribers at a time, for only SR1. Users can cluster their contacts in groups of up to 20, saving themselves the trouble of selecting individual contacts from their mobile phonebooks every time they want to send a single SMS to multiple contacts. Each user can form up to 50 groups, while any single contact can be in multiple groups. SMS Plus is a great way for SMS power users to save money while enjoying their favorite SMS service, Mobily said in a statement on Saturday. Mobily designed the feature in a way that makes it easy to use. Every process has a single code that a user sends to the number 616263. For instance, to create a new group, a user would send an SMS containing the letter C, followed by the desired name of the group, to 616263. Once created, the user can build up the group by sending the letter A, followed by the name of the group and the phone number of the contact, to the same number. To send a given SMS to the group, the user only needs to type the letter S, followed by the name of the group, right before the text of the message. Also, users can edit their groups using the same method. To delete a group, a user types in “delete group”, followed by the group's name, and send the SMS to 616263. To remove a contact from a group, type “delete contact”, followed by the group's name and the phone number of the contact. To delete all contact from a group without deleting the group itself, the user types in “delete all”, followed by the group's name and the numbers of recipients. Earlier, Mobily had launched a service dubbed “How Are you?” that allowed users to send up to three SMS messages a day for free.
