All 18 Umrah pilgrims on a bus traveling between Taif and Makkah were injured when the vehicle turned over on the Al-Sail road on Thursday. The accident was reportedly due to the Syrian driver falling asleep at the wheel, and officials later discovered that the he did not hold a driving license. The eight Saudis, eight Egyptians, one Bangladeshi and one Indian were all said to be in stable condition in hospital.
