Motorcycle-riding gunmen struck in Quezon City while two groups of teenagers got involved in a brief gangfight while police were busy manning checkpoints as part of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) nationwide gunban. A radio DZMM report said the two motorcycle-riding gunmen blocked the vehicle of the Rizal-based firm Seferico Money Changer along Aurora Boulevard in Cubao Wednesday night. The robbers held the four money changer employees inside the vehicle at gunpoint and took a bag which they thought to be filled with cash. The report said that before fleeing, the robbers fired at the employees, injuring two of them. Police said the robbers fled with a bag filled with cloth. They said one of the employees was able to hide away the cash, amounting to P134,000, before handing the bag to the robbers. Meanwhile, an unidentified teenager died after being hit by a stray bullet during a gang war on IBP Road in Litex before dawn Thursday. Residents said rival gangs fired arrows and guns along the road and fled. The two incidents took place while police were setting up checkpoints around the city. – ABS
