Safi Danone presented a check of SR1.5m here Monday to a charity committee supporting Jeddah flood victims. The check was handed over by Sulaiman Hijaz, marketing manager of Al-Safi Danone, to Mazen Batterjee, chairman of the committee and Vice Chairman of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI). The donation is part of an agreement between the two sides whereby Al-Safi promised to donate the proceeds from the sale of all milk and milk products in the city for one week which began on Dec. 22. The check was presented by Sulaiman Hijaz on behalf of Muhammad Bin Abdul Aziz Sarhan, chairman of Al-Safi Danone. Mazen Batterjee praised the initiatives of Al-Safi Danone which joined more than 50 companies and national institutions involved in donations for the campaign launched by JCCI for flood relief. “The campaign launched by Al-Safi Danone encouraged other institutions to carry out programs of social responsibility,” he said.
