Current expansion plans for King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC) Jeddah will see the number of beds increased to 760 from 330 in 2010. This was announced by the hospital's general executive supervisor Dr. Qasim Al-Qasabi at a press conference here Sunday. KFSH&RC has signed contracts with Vanir Construction Management to supervise the hospital's future projects. The hospital has also entered into an agreement with the American architectural firm RTKL Associates to design the hospital's new branch projects. “The new projects will take less than four years to be completed according to the management's projections,” said Al- Qasabi. These projects will enable the hospital to provide quality comprehensive service and to meet the needs of patients for the next 20 years. “Our plan covers all sections of the hospital, such as adding more beds to intensive care and providing hospital employees with scholarships in their specialties as well as organizing training courses for doctors and nurses,” said Dr. Tariq Lenjawi, the hospital's general executive director.
