Birr Charity in Makkah will open its Charitable Healthcare Center by the middle of this month with 13 kidney dialysis machines working 16 hours a day. The center, which has 16 beds and was built at a cost of SR2 million, is under the supervision of a specialist kidney consultant from the National Guard Hospital in Jeddah, and will offer treatment free of charge to Saudis and non-Saudis resident in Makkah. “The center has six private rooms for kidney dialysis with 13 machines, to which another three will be added soon,” said Tariq Jamal of Al-Birr. “Along with an isolation room, a primary detection room, and other facilities like a pharmacy and water desalination room, we have a qualified nursing staff of 10.”
