year-old man suspected of killing policeman Sultan Al-Juaid at a shootout in Truba, Taif on Tuesday confessed to the crime during investigations Thursday. Two more suspects in the crime turned themselves in to the Commission of the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (the Hai'a) in Taif late Thursday, said Hadi Al-Shehri, head of the Taif Hai'a. The capture of the two men was peaceful through cooperation between the Hai'a and the men's families. The killer was arrested Wednesday at a farmhouse near Al-Hayriya town while police continue their manhunt for one more man, believed to be the brother of the killer, who was allegedly accomplices at the shootout. The fleeing suspect is believed to roaming around disguised in women's clothes. The killer, however, surrendered without resistance and without a weapon in his possession Wednesday, said Truba Police Chief Colonel Hussien Al-Abbadi. He was wanted in connection with several drug cases in Truba. The police have also seized the Ford car from which the suspect fired his Kalashnikov at the policeman in the shootout. Another policeman was injured in the operation, but he has recovered and has been discharged from the hospital, medical sources said. The alleged killer, who was not identified, was taken to Taif Prison pending further investigations and trial. The family of martyr Al-Juaid said that they were comforted that their son died on duty, serving his country and people. The 22-year-old policeman was the youngest son of the family and joined the service seven months ago, said Fahd Al-Juaid, a brother of the martyr. “I hope the police will capture the other two suspects and bring them to justice,” he said.
