One of a number of fossil footprints that Polish researchers found in a milestone discovery in south-central Poland and had dated some 397 million years back, at the Geology Institute in Warsaw Thursday. The discovery suggests that the first tetrapods, or four-footed animals, emerged on land some 18 million years earlier than scientists believed so far. The finding was published in Thursday's issue of the Nature magazine.
