hoc committee of the Jeddah Cricket Association during its first official meeting after the formation of the new cricket associaion, free and fair elections were held to select the new executive committee for two years at a local restaurant here recently. The meeting was graced by JCA chairman Dr. Faiz Al-Abideen, Vice Chairman Humayoon Farooq, JCA sponsors Eng. Mohammad Afzal, GM, Initial Landscaping Company, Chowdry Mohammad Ashraf Gulam, GM, Al-Harazi Trading & Contracting Est., Syed Abdul Khadar Qasim, GM, and Fatima Al-Aqqad Est. Representatives from 24 registered clubs out of 26 attended the meeting and cast their votes. Pak Ahmadabad and Pure Foods did not take part in the meeting. Out of the 13 candidates in the fray 11 were elected to the new executive committee of the association. They are: Mohammad Iqbal, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Syed Majeedul Hassan, Muhammad Akhtar Hussain, Ahsan Rafeh, Aizaz Ashraf Toor, Azizullah Shariff, Haroon Abdullah, Syed Muzaffar Hussain, Irfan Qureshi and Zaheer Peeran. The election officers were Ramnarayan from Arab News, K.O. Paulson from Saudi Gazette, Raoof Tahir from Urdu News and A.A. Merchant form Kanoo Group of Companies. The function started with recitation from Holy Qur'an, presentation of report by Syed Majeedul Hassan, General Secretary of JCA adhoc committee, JCA Chairman Dr. Faiz Al-Abideen and President Mohammad Iqbal. After extending thanks to tall those who have cooperated and associated with JCA, President Iqbal declared the JCA Adhoc Committee dissolved and handed over the proceedings of elections to the election officers and the observers. Latern after the elections the newly elected executive committee members unanimously chosen the office-bearers who will work with JCA Patron Tariq Al-Maeena, Chairman Dr. Faiz Al-Abideen Chairman and Vice Chairman Humayoon Farooq. Accordingly the the following will take over the official positions in the JCA: Mohammad Iqbal (President), Aijaz Ahmed Khan (Vice President), Syed Majeedul Hassan (General Secretary), Haroon Abdullah Bin Mehfooz (Secretary Administration), Aizaz Ashraf Toor (Secretary Public Relations), Syed Muzaffar Hussain (Secretary Technical), Muhammad Akhtar Hussain (Secretary Finance), Irfan Qureshi (Joint Secretary Administration), Azizullah Sheriff (Joint Secretary Technical ) and Ahsan Rafeh (Joint Secretary Finance). __
